UBS Arena is committed to helping Elmont and the surrounding communities. We plan on working with community organizations and elected officials in an effort to fill 30 percent of the jobs at the venue with local residents.
UBS Arena is a part of the $1.5 billion redevelopment of Belmont Park that includes a retail village and hotel. The project is expected to generate approximately $25 billion in economic activity, including 10,000 construction jobs, 3,000 permanent jobs and major infrastructure improvements. The projectās goal is to earmark 30% of construction contracting dollars for state-certified minority and female owned businesses and additional 6% to service-disabled, veteran-owned businesses.
In addition, the project has invested almost $100 million in transit and infrastructure enhancements, including the first, newly constructed Long Island Railroad station in almost 50 years.
